33 In the synagogue was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. He screamed with a loud voice,Mark 1:23 34 “Oh, no! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”Ps 16:10; Dan 9:24; Luke 1:35; 4:41

35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” At this, the demon threw the man ^{▼▼Lit. him} down in the middle of the synagogue ^{▼▼The Gk. lacks of the synagogue} and came out of him without hurting him.

36 Amazement came on all of them, and they kept saying to one another, “What kind of statement is this? For with authority and power he tells the unclean spirits what to do, and they come out!” 37 So news about him spread to every place in the surrounding region.
